I made that sound pretty grand, but it’s a shampoo you’ll definitely see someone using at any car wash. Honestly, I don’t know exactly what makes it so good, but I’ve been using it forever. It’s cheap, easy to get, and I like that it doesn’t strip away the coating I apply regularly.

And this sponge. It’s just right for scrubbing tight spots. You wear it like a glove, which is great for cleaning detail work, but I’ll admit it gets soaking wet and feels pretty gross. Also, it’s despairingly hard to dry out.
